In early 2019 I had been ponderously labouring over some guitar-based instrumentals for nearly a year. In an effort to avoid doing any actual work on the tracks themselves, I decided to review the various recordings I had accumulated in that time.

Trawling through folders, I came across six remarkable fragments of sound I had no recollection of recording. They sounded unlike any sounds I'd recorded before: arrhythmic, ethereal - not like a guitar at all. I was immediately excited by the possibilities and started thinking about how I might transform these sounds into something worthy of releasing.

The related metadata revealed that I had made these recordings on 24th December 2018, which meant I was experimenting with a guitar I'd just acquired. In the subsequent months, I experimented with different arrangements to turn the sounds into pieces which create an atmosphere in a space while still retaining the listener's interest.

This release includes the six original sounds to download for free and use as you wish.
