about

A series of tracks based around the mathematical concept of happy prime numbers.

A happy prime number is defined as one which, when you square the digits and add them together, then repeat for subsequent results, will eventually reach 1. (Unhappy numbers never reach 1 and generate unending looped sequences.)

Using 1 as the root note in a scale, you can generate a chord sequence:

7 x 7 = 49
(4 x 4) + (9 x 9) = 16 + 81 = 97
(9 x 9) + (7 x 7) = 81 + 49 = 130
(1 x 1) + (3 x 3) = 1 + 9 = 10
(1 x 1) + 0 = 1

giving the sequence: 4, 9, 9, 7, 1, 3, 1

and the progression F, D, D, B, C, E, C (in C major)
